Tourism in the town center
In the center of town, you will find one of the most emblematic structures in Nerja, the Balcón de Europa, a balcony above a cliff that looks over the sea, the views here are truly mesmerizing.
The old town is very Andalucian, it’s full of white-washed houses, and pebble streets. Some houses still have their Andalucian terraces, they are truly beautiful. In these pebble streets you can shop for typical products: sweet wine, sugar cane honey (delicious!) and plenty of freshly harvested fruit and vegetables.
There are also a good amount of squares in Nerja: Plaza España is the main square but Plaza Cantarero, Plaza de los Cangrejos, Plaza de la Ermita the Plaza Andalucía are all full of charm. Nerja also has some very nice churches, in Plaza Andalucía you can find the San Miguel church, and in La Ermita you can find another church where the patroness of Nerja is found, Virgen de las Angustias.
On another note, the Plaza Tutti Frutti is full of late night bars and clubs for those who want to experience the local nightlife scene.

Nerja today and yersterday has been the stage of adverts, movies, and tv series, the most famous of which is Verano Azul which was filmed completely in the area and was one of the biggest tv series in Spain. If you fancy it you can take a Verano Azul tour with one of the series actors Tito, Tito is very friendly and speaks good English, and on the plus side, the price is very fair.
