The Nerja market is held every Tuesday of the year, except on holidays. It is an open-air market where all the merchants exhibit their products on spacious stalls. It’s quite surprising how the merchants shout out their offers and make themselves noticed in between all the noise.
In this market, you can find all kinds of fresh fruit and vegetables, and even make-up and household items. It’s a very typical market, the same type of market is found in towns all over the country. Here they sell fresh quality products at fair prices.
There are also toilets at your disposal and opposite the market area, there is a bar called Genesis where you can have a coffee or a beer and even get a bite to eat.

The market in Nerja is open every Tuesday of the year, except on holidays, from 8am to 2pm. Entrance to the market is completely FREE.
There are 180 stalls on offer, and they sell fruit, vegetables, clothes, household items, and much much more.
Location of the Nerja Market
The Nerja Market is located on Mirto street, next to the Almijara II complex. It can be found on an esplanade designed specifically for the market.
Locals and tourists visit the market every Tuesday to see what they can find on offer. If you wish to walk around the whole market, ask about prices and buy some products, you can expect to walk around for about 2 hours. It is highly recommended that you hydrate properly because it can get very very hot under the sun.
To get to the Nerja Market you have various options. If you are driving then it is very simple because the market offers a public car park which is located just meters away. Also, you could get the bus, which only costs 1€ and stops almost at the entrance of the market.
Another mode of transports you could use to get to the Nerja Market is to get a nerja taxis, which will cost you approximately seven euros from the center of town. If you wish to order a taxi, just ring them on 0034 95 252 05 37 and in a couple of minutes they will take you from your wherever you are to the market. Up to four people can get in one taxi.
Sunday’s Nerja Car Boot Sale
The Car Boot Sale in Nerja is held every Sunday by the Lions club. Here you can find hundreds of second-hand products, which is great for collectors, and home-made products such as straw baskets.
It’s a very international market, more so than the Tuesday market, where you can find merchants from lots of different countries. Here you will be able to find some antiques which you simply cannot buy in shops.
It is held every Sunday on the same esplanade as the Tuesday market (Mirto street). And offers the same opening hours (8am to 2pm).
At this market, it is quite common to try and reduce the prices of what you have your eye set on, and normally people will not pay the full price shown.
It is the perfect place to buy that book that you have been looking for or that very old toy that you used to have when you were just a kid.
